Job Description
Green Attic Roofing & Solar Mount Prospect, IL 60056 Full-Time | In Person + Jobsite Visits About Green Attic Green Attic is a growing Chicagoland company specializing in roofing, solar, and energy-efficient building solutions. We are expanding our solar division and looking for a strong Project Manager who can keep jobs moving from planning through installation, inspection, and closeout. This role is ideal for someone with solar, roofing, electrical, or construction project management experience who knows how to coordinate crews, manage schedules, solve field issues, communicate clearly, and prevent small problems from becoming expensive disasters. Because apparently construction already has enough chaos without the project manager adding more. About the Role As our Solar Construction Project Manager, you will manage solar projects after sales handoff and make sure each job is properly planned, scheduled, documented, installed, inspected, and closed out. You will work with homeowners, internal teams, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and utility partners. This is not a desk-only role. You must be comfortable visiting jobsites, checking progress, reviewing scope, solving coordination issues, and following up until every loose end is closed. What You'll Do Manage solar projects from sales handoff through final inspection and closeout. Build and maintain project schedules for crews, subcontractors, inspections, deliveries, and customer updates. Coordinate materials, equipment, permits, inspections, utility requirements, and jobsite readiness. Review project scope, plans, photos, layouts, and material needs before work begins. Identify missing information, scope gaps, or readiness issues before they delay the field team. Communicate clearly with customers, crews, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal office staff. Visit jobsites as needed to verify progress, quality, safety, and installation status. Track project notes, photos, punch list items, change orders, job updates, and closeout documents. Support issue resolution when field conditions change. Help improve our project management process, checklists, and internal systems as we scale. What We're Looking For 3+ years of project management, construction coordination, solar, roofing, electrical, or exterior remodeling experience. Strong understanding of jobsite coordination, scheduling, materials, crews, and customer communication. Experience managing multiple active projects at once. Ability to review plans, job scope, photos, and project requirements before installation. Comfortable handling field issues, schedule changes, customer questions, and subcontractor coordination. Strong follow-up skills. We need someone who closes loops instead of creating mystery novels in the schedule. Organized with documentation, photos, notes, project tracking, and status updates. Valid driver's license. Able to commute to Mount Prospect, IL and visit jobsites throughout the Chicagoland area. Strongly Preferred Solar project management experience. Solar installation or solar field coordination experience. Roofing project management experience. Electrical coordination experience. Commercial solar experience. Experience with permitting, inspections, utility coordination, commissioning, or closeout documents. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Jobber, HubSpot, Roofr, Google Workspace, or similar tools. Experience managing roofing + solar or multi-trade exterior projects. Familiarity with prevailing wage / Davis-Bacon projects is a plus, but not required.
