The Position:
The Solar Design Technician will work with a project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical and site improvement plans according to budget constraints, design factors and client requirements. Payne & Dolan is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented, problem-solver who has a desire to be part of our growing engineering design group.
Responsibilities to include:
Create and modify electrical and site improvement drawings using AutoCAD Enforce project-specific drafting standards Support construction administration tasks from concept to commissioning phase Perform site reviews and construction site visits Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements:
Must be a reliable, efficient self-starter with initiative and a sense of responsibility Work effectively in a team environment Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in engineering technology or Renewable Energy Systems Working knowledge of AutoCAD Functional understanding of electrical components such as PV modules, inverters, transformers, surge arresters, and circuit breakers. Knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, and procedures Familiarity with electrical engineering standards / codes including
NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, UL & NESC
Ability to keep accurate and detailed records or notes
