Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SolidWorks Drafter to join our dynamic business. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise 3D models and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks, supporting the development of mechanical systems and construction projects. Your expertise will help translate complex concepts into clear, manufacturable designs that adhere to industry standards and client specifications. Responsibilities Develop accurate 3D models and detailed 2D drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret design concepts, schematics, and system requirements. Ensure all designs comply with relevant ASME codes & standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and industry best practices. Create system design schematics, technical documentation, and assembly instructions for manufacturing or construction purposes. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER, NavisWorks, Bluebeam, and System design tools as needed for integrated project workflows. Support technical writing efforts by documenting design processes, modifications, and specifications clearly and thoroughly. Assist in conducting FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations to validate mechanical integrity of designs when applicable. Requirements Proven experience with SolidWorks drafting for mechanical design and system assembly projects. Strong knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER, NavisWorks, Bluebeam, and 2D animation tools is highly desirable. Familiarity with GD&T principles and ASME codes & standards to ensure precision and compliance in all designs. Mechanical engineering background with understanding of schematics, system design, mechanical components, and construction processes. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and technical writing documents accurately. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in drafting for manufacturing or construction environments is essential. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
