Job Description

Our commitment to excellence in service and quality makes us a leader in the hospitality industry. Summary We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Midland Country Club. In this role, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation while contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our members. Responsibilities As Sous Chef, you will lead staff performance and procedures through à la carte dining and private events, setting standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.
You will:
Be aware of shortages and decide on an alternative option before the item runs out Ensure that F&B Service Staff are informed of out of stock (86'd) items and amount of available menu features throughout the meal period Lead innovation while upholding cost controls, inventory management, and kitchen organization Ensure that staff maintain and strictly abide by State sanitation/Health regulations Instruct staff in the correct usage and care of all machinery in the kitchen operation, stressing safety Review sales and food cost daily with Executive Chef Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale Prepare weekly work schedules for all kitchen personnel in accordance with staffing guidelines and forecasted labor costs, adjusting schedules throughout the week to meet business demands Consistently read industry books such as:

Reports all member and guest complaints to the chef and assists in resolving complaints Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the executive chef Requirements Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role. (2 year experience required) Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Experience in menu planning and inventory management is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
