Job Description

Overview The Academy of the Holy Family is a small, Catholic all-girls day/boarding school owned and operated by the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church Our students are local and from all over the world. Join our vibrant educational community as a dedicated Spanish, French, or Latin Teacher! In this dynamic role, you will inspire students to develop their language skills, cultural understanding, and critical thinking abilities. Your passion for language education will foster an engaging classroom environment where students thrive academically and personally. We are seeking energetic educators committed to innovative teaching methods, curriculum development, and student success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working within a supportive and collaborative team. Duties Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in Spanish, French, or Latin. Develop engaging instructional materials utilizing learning technology and creative writing techniques to enhance language acquisition. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and portfolio reviews; provide timely feedback to support growth. Incorporate literacy education strategies and linguistics principles to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Manage classroom behavior effectively through classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment. Mentor and support students individually or in small groups, including tutoring sessions for language proficiency or exam preparation such as AP style or Chicago Manual of Style. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, instructional design projects, and educational administration tasks to ensure cohesive program delivery. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching Spanish, French, or Latin at the middle school or high school level; Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored to diverse learner needs. Experience working with students with special education needs Excellent communication skills paired with organizational skills are essential for managing classrooms and fostering student engagement. Willingness to work in a religious based school and incorporate faith into the classroom experience.
