Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a lasting difference by supporting students as a Special Education ELA Inclusion Teacher in a vibrant school community. This contract role is based onsite and offers the opportunity to work closely with students of diverse backgrounds while collaborating with a passionate team of educators. You'll take on a pivotal position at the Northwest Collegiate Academy, helping learners reach important milestones and thrive inside and outside the classroom.
Key Qualifications:
Holds active and valid onsite EC teaching certification for North Carolina Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field Experience with ELA inclusion settings strongly preferred Thorough understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet student needs Familiarity with progress monitoring and data-driven practices
Core Responsibilities:
Design and deliver ELA instruction and support within the inclusion setting Provide direct academic and behavioral support to students with exceptional needs Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure effective integration and differentiated instruction Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Maintain accurate documentation and regularly communicate student progress with families and staff Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging learning atmosphere Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as required This full-time position runs through July 2, 2027, with a schedule of 35 hours per week, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to student outcomes without extended summer commitments.
