Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher to support high school students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by helping students reach their fullest potential in a supportive educational setting.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Holds a valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience working with high school students in a special education setting preferred Comprehensive understanding of IEP development, case management, and progress monitoring Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment and adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students Provide direct instruction in accordance with IEP goals and outlined curriculum Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success Conduct assessments, gather data, and maintain accurate records of student progress and needs Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-based team initiatives Utilize effective behavior management techniques to support student participation and growth Encourage student independence and self-advocacy skills This contract special education teaching position provides a rewarding opportunity to positively impact students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development throughout the school year.
