Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a positive impact on young learners by supporting a Pre-K classroom as a Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity, running from August 24, 2026, through November 13, 2026, offers a dynamic experience working with early childhood students. You'll be based in a single building, focusing on a caseload of 10-15 Pre-K students, and contribute to a collaborative, caring environment dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of young children.
Key Qualifications:
Dual certification in both Early Childhood Education and Special Education (required) Experience or strong interest in working with preschool-aged students Ability to craft and adapt individualized lesson plans designed to foster educational and social development Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced, ever-changing classroom setting
Primary Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor IEPs for assigned students, providing differentiated instruction and support Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom where every learner feels valued Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure student progress and safety Use a variety of instructional strategies to address the unique learning needs of each child Maintain records, complete progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings as needed This role offers the fulfillment of helping young children build foundational skills in a supportive school setting.
