Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for five dedicated Special Education Teachers ready to make a meaningful impact at the elementary level. This contract position covers the 2026-2027 school year, with full-time hours onsite. Candidates will work closely with diverse learners in grades K-5, providing targeted instruction and support. Teaching assignments available include two Resource Teacher roles, two Core Replacement Teacher positions, and one position for an educator experienced with moderate to severe student needs. Each teacher will have the chance to collaborate within a supportive team environment, shaping the learning journeys of elementary students.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience or training working with K-5 students in special education settings Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP implementation Excellent communication and collaboration skills Adaptable and motivated to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable learning environments
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans targeting students' academic and developmental needs Implement IEPs in accordance with district and state regulations Assess and document students' progress using formal and informal measures Work in partnership with general education teachers, aides, and specialists Engage with families to support student growth and communicate progress Attend required meetings and professional development sessions
