Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on an exciting contract opportunity near North Carolina's beautiful coast, where you'll make a real difference as a Special Education Teacher. Five newly opened positions are available, offering both resource and inclusion roles to suit your expertise. This school-based assignment welcomes educators holding special education licenses—even from out of state—looking to enrich their professional journey in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid special education teaching license (out-of-state licensure accepted) Proven experience working with diverse learners in resource or inclusion settings Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet a range of student needs Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and families Competency in managing classroom behaviors and supporting positive learning environments
Role Responsibilities:
Design and deliver tailored instruction aligned with individual student IEPs Modify curriculum materials to promote accessibility and understanding Collaborate with general education teachers to implement inclusion practices Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor and document student progress Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to goal setting and planning Foster a nurturing atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported Engage effectively with support personnel, families, and administration
