Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working with early childhood students, ages 3-5, on a part-time contract basis. This position is perfect for professionals passionate about fostering the growth and development of young learners, while enjoying the flexibility and stability of a gradually expanding caseload. You'll play a pivotal role at a single school site, with an immediate start and hours totaling approximately 10 per week. As enrollment grows leading into September, this role is anticipated to expand into a full-time position, offering room for professional growth and increased impact.
Essential Qualifications:
Active Special Education Teacher certification in Pennsylvania. Experience or strong interest in early childhood special education (ages 3-5). Familiarity with developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for young students. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families and school staff. Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs. Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction for students with special needs. Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize growth. Collaborate closely with families, therapists, and other educators to support each student's success. Maintain accurate records and comply with local and state regulations. Contribute to a positive school culture that prioritizes child-centered learning.
