Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in young students' lives as a full-time K-5 Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This in-person contract opportunity near Washburn, WI offers the chance to foster growth and development in elementary-aged learners who benefit most from tailored instruction and compassionate support. Your expertise and dedication will help create an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive. By employing your resourceful teaching strategies and strong communication skills, you'll work collaboratively with educators, families, and administrators to deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) and support the diverse needs of your students.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid state special education teaching certification (or eligibility) Previous experience working as a special education teacher at the elementary level (preferred) Strong knowledge of K-5 curriculum and accommodation strategies Experience developing and implementing IEPs Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to cultivate a nurturing, respectful, and positive classroom climate
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver differentiated instruction based on students' unique learning needs Develop and manage IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and families Use data-driven strategies and assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes students' academic, social, and emotional growth Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff Provide regular updates on student progress to families and participate in parent conferences This in-person role provides you the chance to build lasting relationships and directly influence student outcomes in a supportive, elementary setting.
