Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher. You'll collaborate closely with school staff and families to ensure each student receives the support they need to succeed.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification) Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and compliance Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a range of student needs Effective communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues Organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic school setting
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess students' abilities and learning needs, developing instructional strategies tailored to their individual goals Write, update, and manage IEPs in collaboration with team members Deliver engaging instruction in various settings, including small groups and one-on-one Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust teaching methods as necessary Communicate regularly with families about student development and strategies for support Foster a positive learning environment that embraces diversity and inclusion Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to maximize student success This contract role offers a chance to expand your experience in special education while making a direct impact on students' lives.
