Special Ed Teacher - Ansonia, Connecticut ProCare Therapy - 3.9 Ansonia, CT Job Details Full-time $26.34 - $48.34 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Working with individuals with developmental disabilities Teaching Certification Working with students Special Education Certification Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This full-time, full school year position offers the opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher in a K-2 classroom setting, serving up to 10 students. Located in Ansonia, CT, the role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to young learners with autism, with an emphasis on ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs. Utilize Autism/ABA experience to support behavior management and promote student engagement. Collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals (paras), Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to deliver coordinated support. Monitor and manage episodes of elopement while ensuring a safe and nurturing classroom environment. Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
Certified Special Education Teacher with experience in early childhood education (K-2). Strong background in working with students on the autism spectrum, including practical knowledge of ABA strategies. Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and other professionals. Skilled in behavior management techniques, particularly in addressing elopement. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
