Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. In this contract-based opportunity, you'll work full time, Monday through Friday, serving a diverse high school caseload and helping students reach their potential. Candidates with behavior management experience will thrive while collaborating with a committed team of educators and specialists.
Key Qualifications:
Valid North Carolina Special Education License Relevant credentials and certifications for working in special education Experience working with high school-aged students is highly valued Previous exposure to behavioral intervention techniques or behavior management preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs Implement specialized instructional strategies and behavior management plans Collaborate closely with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to create a positive, inclusive educational experience Track and assess student progress, regularly updating documentation and reports Provide support and guidance for students with a range of behavioral and learning challenges Foster a safe and encouraging classroom environment that nurtures independence and personal growth
