Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting 4th and 5th graders within a specialized EBD (Emotional/Behavioral Disorders) program. This contract role begins as soon as possible and runs through June 10th, offering a consistent 37.5-hour workweek. Located near Burnsville, MN, you'll focus on a manageable caseload of just five students, allowing you to provide individualized support and make meaningful connections. In this inclusive classroom environment, two dedicated paraprofessionals are on hand to assist, and you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other professionals to help each student succeed. The classroom serves students with a range of needs, including two learners on altered school day schedules, providing a dynamic and flexible teaching experience.
Key Qualifications:
Active teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain) Experience working with students with EBD or a strong passion for supporting diverse learners Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and behavioral interventions Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needsPrimary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and support to a small caseload of students in grades 4 and 5 Collaborate with paraprofessionals to foster a supportive learning environment Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) Use evidence-based strategies to address behavioral and academic goals Maintain positive, ongoing communication with families and interdisciplinary teams This is a fantastic chance to make a positive impact while working alongside dedicated support staff.
