Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Inspire and nurture young learners as a Special Education Teacher working with students in kindergarten through second grade. This contract opportunity offers the chance to positively impact the lives of children with Cognitive Impairments (CI). You will serve a dynamic group of 17 students, providing tailored instruction and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching Certification Experience working with students diagnosed with cognitive impairments (CI) preferred Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff and engaging families Compassion, adaptability, and a passion for early childhood education
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to K-2 students in alignment with IEP goals Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom atmosphere Implement evidence-based strategies for differentiated learning Collect data and report on student progress Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and other educational staff to maximize student success Maintain open communication with families regarding student development Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives

Schedule:
37.5 hours per week Contract dates: August 11, 2026 (anticipated start) through June 4, 2027 Serve a manageable caseload of 17 eager learners in early elementary school This role is perfect for educators who are energized by helping young children overcome challenges and reach their potential.
