Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. With a single school assignment and a collaborative community, your expertise will help students from kindergarten through 8th grade thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students with severe and profound disabilities Delivering engaging instruction to students in K-3rd, 4th-6th, or 7th-8th grade classrooms, with both verbal and non-verbal learners Creating a supportive, structured, and positive learning environment Working closely with colleagues, therapists, and family members to advance each child's goals Monitoring emotional, academic, and social progress with ongoing assessment and documentation
Qualifications & Experience:
Current Mississippi Special Education (SPED) license required Experience with students who have significant disabilities preferred Strong communication, patience, and creative problem-solving skills Familiarity with virtual and onsite teaching environments a plus Ability to collaborate and adapt to dynamic classroom needs This contract position begins July 29, 2026, and runs through May 21, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek on a single campus in a supportive, forward-thinking district that values innovation and inclusivity.
