Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact in the lives of elementary students as a contract Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. This onsite position offers the chance to work across all classroom types, including inclusion, self-contained, and behavior units. You'll play a vital role in guiding students with diverse needs, collaborating with dedicated professionals, and cultivating a supportive learning environment throughout the academic year. Bring your expertise and passion to an engaging role where you'll work Monday through Friday, supporting a varied elementary caseload. Multiple positions are available, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with other specialists and expand your experience in special education.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education (SPED) certification for Alabama. Licensure can be verified online at the Alabama State Department of Education website. Experience or willingness to work in inclusion, self-contained, or behavior-focused classrooms. Deep understanding of IEP development and implementation. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive atmosphere. Strong communication and collaboration with staff, administration, and families. Commitment to supporting academic and behavioral growth for students with special needs. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized instruction according to student IEPs. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to ensure student success.
