Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Help shape the future of students with high behavioral needs at an Intensive Learning Center in a rewarding contract opportunity for Special Education Teachers. This on-site position, commencing August 10, 2026, and running through May 20, 2027, offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where educators can make a meaningful impact. With five positions available, this is an exceptional chance to join a collaborative team dedicated to inclusive education.
Qualifications:
Active or pending New Mexico teaching license in Special Education Demonstrated experience working in self-contained classrooms or with students exhibiting high behavioral needs Strong communication, collaboration, and behavioral intervention skills Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Flexible and resilient approach to daily classroom challenges
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a self-contained classroom for students with intensive learning and behavioral needs Develop tailored lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with IEP goals Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to address academic, social, and behavioral targets Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide data-driven instructional adjustments Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom atmosphere Promote positive behavioral interventions and create individualized strategies to support each student This onsite role guarantees consistent weekdays with a standard 37.5-hour work week, ideal for those who thrive on structure and routine.
