Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Help shape a supportive and enriching learning environment this summer by working with students who thrive with specialized instruction. This opportunity is perfect for passionate Special Education Teachers who are eager to make a focused impact during a rewarding short-term contract. This summer role will run June 1st through June 25th, Monday to Thursday. Certified and licensed Special Education Teachers will engage with students from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, with teacher preparation and wrap-up between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm daily. You'll support the academic and developmental growth of learners in a welcoming school setting near Vernon Hills, IL.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification/licensure Experience or strong interest in working within a school-based special education setting Excellent communication skills when collaborating with students, families, and colleagues Compassion, patience, and creativity in adaptation of materials, lesson plans, and activities Ability to maintain accurate records and follow compliance standards
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, individualized instruction according to each student's IEP Collaborate closely with support staff and paraprofessionals Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Monitor student progress, participate in team meetings, and maintain documentation Support students' social, emotional, and academic development throughout the program
