Iowa Park CISD Behavior Special Education Teacher / BAC Classroom Lead Kidwell Elementary is seeking a dedicated, student-centered professional to serve as our Behavior Special Education Teacher and BAC Classroom Lead . This individual will play a critical role in supporting students with significant behavioral needs while helping create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the case manager and primary support for students with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Oversee and manage the BAC classroom and ensure implementation of individualized behavior supports Implement BIPs with fidelity and provide ongoing behavior intervention support Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, counselors, administrators, and families to support student success Provide coaching and strategies to staff regarding behavior management and de-escalation techniques Lead the campus Crisis Response Team Supervise, support, and lead paraprofessionals assigned to the crisis response/support team to ensure they are trained, prepared, and implementing behavior supports appropriately Serve as the first responder for aggressive or escalated student behaviors on campus Maintain accurate documentation and data related to behavior interventions and student progress Support the development of proactive, positive behavior systems campus-wide
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with students exhibiting significant behavioral challenges preferred Strong knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and crisis prevention techniques Handle With Care training preferred, or willingness to complete required training Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in high-stress situations Strong collaboration and communication skills Must be physically capable of responding safely and appropriately during crisis situations, including aggressive behaviors when necessary
