Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students and educators this summer as a contract paraprofessional in a vibrant California school community. Contribute your skills to a team dedicated to helping children of all abilities thrive during Extended School Year (ESY) programs. You'll collaborate with teachers, staff, and students, ensuring a safe and enriching learning environment across a range of school settings.
Qualifications:
An Associate's Degree or higher, OR 48+ college units and a high school diploma, OR passing CBEST and a high school diploma, OR passing the Instructional Aide Exam and a high school diploma Additional certifications are valued; include proof of completion For specialized roles, relevant experience or certifications in first aid/CPR, emergency medication administration, sign language fluency, Braille instruction, or Licensed Vocational Nursing are highly desirable Experience supporting students with physical, social-emotional, behavioral, vision, hearing, or complex medical needs (roles and requirements vary) Willingness to perform all assigned duties, including personal care, feeding, toileting, g-tube feeding, and mobility assistance Demonstrated ability to be flexible, solution-oriented, and a strong team player Manager's reference required What you'll do: Support students ages Pre-K through high school with daily learning activities during ESY (June 15 - July 17, various schedules by grade level) Assist with instruction, behavior support, and classroom organization Provide physical, medical, or personal care as assigned, including specialized procedures if trained Follow all program guidelines, collaborate with staff, and maintain confidentiality Accept assignments at any program site in the area and assist wherever needed, regardless of preference Ready to make an impact and grow your skills?
