Job Description

Job Summary Plan, prepare and deliver a quality instructional program based upon student Individual Education Plan goals, state standards, district curriculum, and effective instruction to students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs in inclusive settings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Washington State Teaching Certificate, K-12, Special Education Endorsement Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff Strong organizational skills Must be a Washington resident
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of applicable state and federal rules and regulations Knowledge of effective research-based curricula and practices in academic, behavior, and social skills Knowledge and skills in using effective instructional strategies and practices for a wide range of student ages, needs and abilities Through collaboration with team members, design and implement strong programming within student IEP that is compliant with state and federal regulations Design and implement intervention based on student assessment and evaluation Willing to be a collaborative member of small school staff Skills in effective planning and implementation of lessons based on state standards, district curriculum, and student needs Ability to communicate with and work with parents Strong organization, time management and record keeping. Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy work setting. Knowledge and skills in using various formative and summative assessments and progress monitoring tools to inform practice Knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports and crisis intervention Collaborate with classroom teachers in designing and implementing specially designed instruction Experience or knowledge of the transition needs of the emerging adolescent Ability to set high expectations for students and provide rigorous curriculum and instruction Train and provide indirect supervision and guidance to paraeducators Ability to maintain confidentiality
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach K-12 students who are identified for special education services; Prepare IEP's according to law.
