Job Description

Summary Robinson Elementary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for students with diverse learning needs. This full-time position requires a deep understanding of special education practices, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lesson plans and instructional materials for students with disabilities. Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed. Create a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth. Maintain accurate records of student performance, IEP goals, and communication with parents and staff. Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings. Facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education best practices. Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community. Foster a culture of respect and inclusion among all students. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid state teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting. Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with special education trends and regulations.
