Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming educational environment near Cranston, RI. Multiple full-time positions are now available, each offering a consistent 37.5 hour workweek. In this setting, you'll lead self-contained classrooms dedicated to supporting students with autism, ensuring a close-knit, nurturing, and structured atmosphere. Bring your passion for making a difference to classrooms with just ten students, where you'll benefit from the collaboration and support of three to six paraprofessionals. This role is designed for professionals who value individualized instruction and thrive in team-oriented settings.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification in Special Education (or eligible for certification) Experience with self-contained classrooms strongly preferred Skilled in designing and adapting curriculum for students with autism Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities Commitment to positive behavioral supports and evidence-based practices
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals to support each student's learning and behavioral goals Monitor progress, track data, and communicate regularly with families and staff Participate in team meetings and maintain thorough communication with related service providers
