Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting young learners in grades K-2. This full-time, contract role is tailored for dedicated educators ready to provide instruction and make a difference year-round, beginning in July and extending into the Extended School Year (ESY). You'll serve a classroom community near Evanston, IL, where your skills and compassion will help students reach their full potential.
What We're Looking For:
Active certification as a Special Education Teacher (K-2 preferred) Experience with students in grades K-2 or similar early childhood settings Knowledge of IEP processes, accommodations, and differentiation strategies Strong communication and collaboration skills with both staff and families Ability to adapt to a year-round calendar, ensuring consistent support for students Passion for fostering inclusion and student success
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging, individualized lesson plans to students in primary grades Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and school leadership Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed to meet IEP goals Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school guidelines Communicate with caregivers to celebrate successes and address concerns Enjoy the
