Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers seeking a rewarding in-person contract role for the 2026-2027 school year near Barre, VT. Positions begin August 28, 2026, and conclude June 18, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours.
Essential Qualifications:
Fully credentialed to teach Special Education per state requirements Proven classroom experience working with students of varying needs Comfortable and enthusiastic about in-person teaching (remote options are not available) Adaptable; open to discussing caseload needs and classroom assignments in the interview process Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Strong collaborative skills and willingness to work within a team environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide direct instruction and specialized support tailored to each student's unique abilities Track student progress and adjust interventions as necessary Collaborate with general education staff, parents, and related service providers Create a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and ongoing professional development
