Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on an impactful opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting students for the 2026-2027 school year in North Austin, TX. This contract position offers an engaging weekly schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, with the choice between working with EC-6 or 6-12 caseloads. Serve approximately 25 to 30 students in an environment committed to providing exceptional educational support.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Texas Department of Education License with EC-12 Special Education and Generalist/Core Endorsements required Familiarity and experience with Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) procedures, including active participation in meetings Solid ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Professional presentation in accordance with dress code policies, including no visible tattoos, natural hair colors, professional attire, and limited earrings as permitted
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, adapt, and deliver instruction tailored to individual student needs within your chosen caseload (EC-6 or 6-12) Prepare and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and regularly evaluate student progress Engage in ARD meetings, providing critical input and maintaining compliance with special education laws and policies Establish a nurturing, equitable, and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes student growth and success Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support personnel to maximize outcomes
