Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as an ELA Inclusion Teacher in a supportive school community near Littleton, NC. This contract opportunity allows you to guide and support special education students in their academic journeys, focusing on inclusion in English Language Arts. With a full-time, onsite schedule and collaboration with a passionate educational team, you'll help students achieve their fullest potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
Hold current North Carolina EC (Exceptional Children) teaching certification or meet state requirements for Special Education Prior experience supporting students in an ELA (English Language Arts) inclusion setting preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to individualized instruction and fostering inclusive learning environments Ability to work onsite throughout the assignment duration
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth in ELA Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school staff, and families Track and document student progress and update plans as needed Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction within an inclusion setting Maintain compliance with state and district special education policies This assignment extends from ASAP through July 2, 2027 (no ESY required) and will take place at Northwest Collegiate Academy, with a consistent 35-hour workweek.
