Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful contract opportunity serving students across grades K-12 as a Special Education Teacher in the Chicago area. In this full-time role, you'll support learners with diverse needs—including learning, emotional, and autistic disabilities—ensuring each student reaches their fullest potential. This assignment begins as soon as possible and lasts through the end of the school year, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference right away.
Key Qualifications:
Valid LBS1 IL Professional Educator License (PEL), K-22 Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals Previous experience working with students in learning, emotional, or autism spectrum programs Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments
Main Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' unique needs, abilities, and IEP goals Assess academic and behavioral progress, adjusting strategies as needed Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families for comprehensive student support Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and compliance requirements Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to evaluations, plans, and team discussions Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth each day within a positive, structured setting This position offers a competitive hourly rate from $37 to $55, matching your expertise and dedication with rewarding compensation.
