Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract opportunity in the greater Naples, ME area for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is an excellent chance to make a lasting impact on students' educational journeys while working within a collaborative and supportive environment. We're looking for passionate individuals with a strong background in special education, who are eager to support and empower students with diverse learning needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field required Valid Special Education teaching certification Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting preferred Familiarity with developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet unique student needs
Responsibilities:
Design, modify, and implement lesson plans tailored to students' individual learning goals Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with legal and district requirements Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages student growth and confidence Attend IEP meetings, professional development, and staff collaborations This contract opportunity allows you to experience beautiful Maine while making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and their families.
