Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a full-time, onsite contract opportunity serving K-5th grade students with mild to moderate needs. This engaging position involves working closely with a supportive co-teacher and managing a caseload of up to 15 students, ensuring tailored instruction and compassionate guidance for those who need it most.
Key Qualifications:
Current Colorado teaching license with Special Education endorsement. Experience supporting elementary-aged students (K-5) with mild to moderate behavioral and academic needs. Confident in managing classroom routines, including assisting with toileting and personal care as necessary. Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly for co-teaching partnerships and working with educational teams. Commitment to creating an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and adapt lessons to meet IEP goals and individualized student needs. Oversee and work directly with a caseload of up to 15 children, collaborating with your co-teacher for student success. Monitor progress, document data, and make responsive adjustments to instructional strategies as needed. Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, support staff, and administrators. Foster a safe, respectful environment that encourages growth and resilience. Support students in daily routines, including occasional individualized care with toileting and self-help skills. You'll make a real difference, providing vital support alongside dedicated colleagues in a collaborative school setting.
