Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact working as a Special Education Teacher within a dedicated, self-contained classroom environment for students with Autism. This full-time contract opportunity offers multiple openings with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, allowing you to collaborate closely with a robust support team and a manageable class size of 10 students. Your classroom is designed for success, with 3 to 6 paraprofessionals assisting each day to foster a supportive atmosphere where each student can thrive. You will focus exclusively on teaching in self-contained classrooms, using creative instructional strategies tailored to individualized education plans (IEPs). This position offers a rewarding chance to engage with students and peers while building strong, lasting relationships.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience with self-contained classrooms, especially working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Strong classroom management skills and a collaborative approach Ability to develop, implement, and track student progress on IEP goals Passion for fostering independence and growth in every student Excellent communication and organizational abilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Lead instruction and curriculum delivery for all subjects in a self-contained classroom Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals to support a positive learning environment Differentiate teaching methods to address autism-specific learning needs Maintain detailed records aligned with IEP requirements and progress monitoring Foster an inclusive, empathetic, and structured classroom community Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams Imagine yourself shaping young lives while working alongside passionate educators in a positive, well-supported environment.
