Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students with diverse learning needs in an Intensive Learning Center setting. This contract opportunity, spanning the full school year, calls for dedicated Special Education Teachers passionate about making a meaningful impact in the classroom. You'll provide essential academic and behavioral supports in a self-contained environment for students with high behavioral needs. This on-site position is ideal for educators with strong classroom management skills and the flexibility to adapt to unique situations. Multiple positions are available, making this an exciting chance to collaborate with a team of professionals all striving toward the same goal: student success.
Qualifications:
Current or pending Special Education Teacher licensure in New Mexico (open to applicants actively obtaining credentials) Experience working with students with significant behavioral and learning needs is strongly preferred Ability to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and deliver specialized instruction Strong behavioral intervention and classroom management skills Collaborative mindset and clear communication abilities Adaptability and problem-solving capabilities
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to students in a self-contained, high-needs environment Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's goals Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation for student performance and behavioral data Work closely with paraprofessionals, school psychologists, related service providers, and families Employ evidence-based strategies and interventions to support both academic and behavioral growth Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development Perks of the
