Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Passionate about making a real difference in students' lives? A contract opportunity is open for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with ELA inclusion expertise. This full-time position offers the chance to collaborate onsite in a vibrant educational community and support students at the Northwest Collegiate Academy. You'll be instrumental in developing and implementing individualized education plans and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learner needs. This role runs through July 2, 2027, aligning with the academic calendar (no ESY), and offers stability for educators ready to grow in a rewarding setting.
Key Qualifications:
Active NC licensure with onsite Exceptional Children (EC) teaching credentials Background in ELA inclusion and strong commitment to equitable education Experience designing and delivering differentiated instruction for varied learning abilities Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, support staff, and interdisciplinary teams Ability to manage IEP compliance and documentation effectively
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, standards-aligned ELA instruction to students with special needs in inclusion settings Collaborate with general education teachers to modify lessons and ensure access to curriculum Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and necessary IEP documentation Foster a learning environment that is supportive, inclusive, and conducive to individual growth This contract role offers a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week onsite throughout the school year.
