Start Date:
August 3 Position Overview Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide medical leave coverage during the Extended School Year (NSY) program. This position will support a small elementary-aged classroom within a therapeutic school environment focused on student behavioral, emotional, and social support in addition to educational programming. This is a short-term leave coverage assignment; however, the duration is currently undetermined and there is a possibility the assignment could extend longer depending on staffing needs. Classroom Details 3 elementary-aged students per classroom Each classroom is staffed with: 1 Teacher 1 Paraprofessional Therapeutic school setting with less emphasis on traditional academics and greater focus on behavioral and emotional support Responsibilities Provide individualized instruction and support aligned with student IEP goals Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers Support students' social-emotional and behavioral development Maintain appropriate documentation and communication regarding student progress Implement behavior support strategies and therapeutic interventions as needed Qualifications Valid Special Education teaching certification preferred Experience working with elementary-aged students Experience in therapeutic, behavioral, or alternative educational settings strongly preferred Strong classroom management and collaboration skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Compensation & Schedule Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week Paid lunch breaks included 42-47 an hour, weekly paycheck Additional Information This is a temporary medical leave coverage position beginning August 3.
