Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting students with diverse learning needs for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity requires five dedicated Special Education professionals who can provide exceptional in-person services within a dynamic school environment. With a start date in late August and continuation through mid-June, you'll be an essential part of an educational community intent on building success for every student.
Qualifications and Skills:
Valid credentials meeting all applicable state Special Education requirements (current, active certification) Demonstrated expertise in providing specialized instruction and individualized education plan (IEP) development Ability to work in-person within a collaborative, school-based team Strong communication skills and adaptability for evolving caseloads Prior experience serving K-12 populations is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, in-person instruction to students in accordance with IEP guidelines Conduct thorough assessments and maintain accurate, up-to-date student records Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure coordinated educational plans Adjust teaching strategies based on student needs and progress, contributing to IEP meetings and ongoing evaluations Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that empowers students to thrive This assignment offers a consistent 37.5-hour workweek and an opportunity to engage in meaningful, face-to-face interactions with students transitioning from virtual to in-person support.
