Immediately Job Description Pembroke Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for a substantially separate social-emotional classroom at the elementary level. This classroom supports students with emotional, behavioral, and social needs who require a highly structured, therapeutic learning environment. The teacher will implement individualized academic and behavioral programming while collaborating closely with support staff and related service providers.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction aligned with students' IEPs in a substantially separate setting Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students with emotional and behavioral disabilities Develop and implement behavior intervention plans and social-emotional learning strategies Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment focused on relationship-building and positive behavior support Collaborate regularly with school counselors, psychologists, BCBA, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Collect and maintain data on student progress toward academic and behavioral goals Evaluate students through formal and informal assessments, write comprehensive special education evaluation reports, and participate in the eligibility determination process Facilitate and participate in IEP and annual review meetings, contributing to the development of appropriate goals and services Communicate effectively with families and maintain regular, professional correspondence Support successful inclusion opportunities when appropriate Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
