Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating students with diverse learning needs and the ability to create an inclusive classroom environment. This role involves developing individualized education programs (IEPs) and implementing effective teaching strategies to support students with disabilities. The Special Education Teacher will collaborate with parents, staff, and other professionals to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially. Responsibilities Educate students with disabilities by developing and implementing tailored lesson plans that align with IEP goals. Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student progress and adapt instruction accordingly. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment. Implement behavior management strategies to address individual student needs and promote positive behavior. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to develop and review IEPs, ensuring that all educational goals are met. Provide early intervention strategies for students requiring additional support in early childhood education settings. Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and IEP documentation. Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in special education. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of behavioral health principles and early intervention strategies is a plus. Strong proofreading skills for creating clear educational materials and reports. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to manage a diverse classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all learners.
