Job Description Supervises and coordinates activities of Specialty & Ortho Clinic staff. Prepares work schedules of staff and providers on a monthly basis. Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the office. Keeps the physician(s) informed of both progress and potential problems of patients. Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Monitors clinic schedules, referrals, and insurance payments. Responsible for overall quality of patient care, efficiency, and financial stability of the clinic. Essential Duties Included butNot Limited To:
Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational goals and objectives. Coordinates the orientation of all clinic staff. Ensures that a record of training is kept on each employee documenting orientation on all skills and awareness of scope of practice guidelines. Provides for professional growth and development of patient care staff through identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education (formal and continuing) efforts and evaluation of same. Understands the scope of practice for staff working within the department. Responsible to ensure staff remain within their scope of practice. Works closely with the revenue cycle department to ensure billing, documentation, and charge capture accuracy in order to maximize the financial stability of the clinic. Maintains a current awareness of third-party reimbursement regulations and contractual arrangements with HMOs and PPOs as instructed by revenue cycle team.
