07/27/2026 CLASSIFICATION Exempt PURPOSE This position helps to reduce or eliminate speech, language, and hearing impediments that interfere with the individual student's ability to derive full benefit from the district's educational program.

Based on the Certified Teacher Master Contract

JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintains records as required by district policy; maintains professional ethics. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for improvement in articulation, expressive and receptive language, and phonetic awareness. Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech, language, and hearing handicapped children. Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing, rhythm, and language impairments. Assists in proper referrals and maintains lists of referred, screened, and eligible students, as well as directory of outside agencies, consultants, specialists, and related services. Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies. Follows a regular set schedule and arrives for each class or session on time. Tracks referrals and placements by age, grade level, and disorder for Continuous Monitoring Report for Special Education Department of

Master's Degree or higher required Certification required Experience preferred
