Requirements:
Licensed NYS Speech Language Pathologist Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field Previous experience working in a school setting, early childhood or pediatrics Strong knowledge of speech and language development, assessment tools and therapeutic techniques Knowledge of NYS special education regulations and procedural safeguards Experience developing and implementing IEP goals Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team Background check and fingerprint clearance through
NY State Education Department General Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and AIS supports Conduct speech and language screenings for kindergarten and newly enrolled students Complete comprehensive speech-language evaluations and reevaluations Develop measurable, standards-aligned IEP goals and progress monitoring systems Monitor, document, and report student progress in accordance with NYS regulations Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) and 504 meetings Maintain accurate and timely service logs and compliance documentation Collaborate with classroom teachers to support carryover of speech/language skills in general education settings Support MTSS processes through consultation, data collection, and intervention planning Communicate effectively and professionally with families and staff Manage schedules and service delivery to meet mandated timelines Use technology systems for documentation, scheduling, and communication Move between classrooms and therapy spaces throughout the school day and assist students as needed to safely deliver services Please make sure to complete an application by clicking here for this job posting.
