Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team and support student success through enhanced communication skills. Your primary focus will be to identify and address barriers to learning by providing targeted support for speech, language, and social communication. You will work across the campus to ensure that every student has the tools they need to participate fully in classroom discussions and peer interactions. In this role, you will serve as a communication expert, offering clinical insights that help shape effective instructional strategies. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about building student confidence and fostering a school culture where every voice is heard and understood.
Responsibilities:
Assesses students' communication skills (e.g. articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment. Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals (e.g. parents, teachers, physicians, administration, maintenance personnel, team members, other professionals, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines. Coordinates meetings and processes for eligible students (e.g. testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans, and/or providing training to parents/students/staff. Develops treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements. Instructs assigned support staff for the purpose of providing information on communicative disorders, use of assistive devices and feeding techniques and/or implementing prescribed treatment plans. Instructs eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, augmentative communication devices, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing the adverse educational impact of communication disorders in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements. Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance. Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Performs site visits at multiple work sites including home visits for the purpose of providing therapy and assistance as required. Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. activity logs, correspondence, memos, treatment plans, Medicaid billings, reports, required documentation, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. Provides speech and language therapy to students for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success. Working with others to improve the effectiveness of service delivery. Stay informed about and understand the district's crisis management plan. Exemplify professional excellence in the school, community, and on social media. Focus on their designated responsibilities and collaborate effectively while respecting the boundaries of their role. Serve as a strong advocate for the school district, promoting its values and achievements both internally and in the broader community. Maintain a positive attitude and actively contribute to a supportive and constructive work environment, avoiding negativity. Demonstrate reliable attendance to maximum student instruction and enhance learning outcomes.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds. Ability to provide physical assistance to students in emergency situations, including evacuations or lockdowns. Must have the stamina and agility required to care for active students in a school setting.
Work Environment:
Works in standard office and school building environments. Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. May be required to provide student behavior support using appropriate restraint or seclusion techniques for student safety purposes.

Board Appointed Staff Salary & Compensation Overview The salary for this position is set by board action, with the current base salary listed as $67,383 and 195 contract days. This amount reflects the base pay prior to any additional compensation for advanced degrees.
Degree stipends are as follows:
a master's degree adds $4,800, a master's plus 15 graduate hours adds $5,400, a master's plus 30 adds $6,000, an educational specialist adds $7,000, and a doctorate adds $8,000.
