Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a full-time Speech Language Pathologist, where you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing and treating speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, delivering personalized care to diverse patient populations. You will utilize your expertise to develop tailored treatment plans, educate patients, and support their journey toward recovery and improved quality of life. Your dedication will directly impact patients' ability to regain independence and achieve their health goals. Responsibilities Performs patient assessment, establishes plan of care, and prepares discharge plans. Evaluates effectiveness of treatment and modifies as necessary. Assesses educational and cultural needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and communicate accordingly to promote maximum benefit of care. Coordinates and supervises appropriate levels of staff including interns and students. Responds to department needs. Participates in and contributes to quality improvement process for the department and the institution. Uses age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines to perform treatments and procedures that are routine for unit/clinic based on patient age. Completes patient documentation in a thorough, timely, and efficient manner Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems while maintaining compliance with medical terminology standards and privacy regulations. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for accurate assessments and effective treatment planning. Proven experience in hospital settings (inpatient), or home health environments with a focus on patient care excellence. Ability to develop comprehensive care plans that incorporate discharge planning and community-based care strategies. Skilled in handling diverse patient populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and progress tracking.
