Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist supporting K-12 students onsite near Michigan City, IN for the 2026-27 school year. With a 35-hour work week, you'll provide direct speech-language therapy and play a key role on a collaborative team dedicated to helping students with diverse communication needs achieve their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver targeted speech-language interventions addressing articulation, social language, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive/expressive language delays. Utilize and support assistive technology and augmentative communication systems. Perform thorough diagnostic and evaluation testing, adapting to a wide range of abilities from ages 2 to 22. Compile detailed, insightful assessment reports for multidisciplinary use. Develop and update IEP objectives to guide and document student progress. Maintain clear and professional communication with parents and colleagues regarding student development and strategies for support. Comfortably serve students with moderate to severe disabilities with empathy and skill.
Qualifications:
Must have or be eligible for an Indiana Professional License (IPLA) and a teaching license from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). Ideally bring 1-2 years' experience as a school-based SLP. Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with flexibility for evolving caseloads. Solution-oriented mindset and the ability to support diverse student needs.
