Staff Accountant

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions across multiple platforms. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and passionate about accounting excellence. Responsibilities Extensive knowledge in all accounting fields. Must have experience with Quickbooks. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing financial reports. Assist with payroll management. Conduct data entry tasks with precision using tools like 10-key typing and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain reliable financial records. Contribute to internal controls by supporting SOX compliance efforts and assisting with audit preparations related to technical accounting issues. Skills Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial concepts, and governmental accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software in-particular QuickBooks.. Experience with payroll management systems such as Paychex or ADP; familiarity with payroll tax regulations is a plus. Knowledge of account reconciliation techniques for general ledger accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and balance sheet analysis. Ability to perform detailed data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent math skills combined with strong analytical abilities for account analysis and budget support. Familiarity with public accounting practices or non-profit accounting is advantageous; experience with financial software like Quicken or Financial Services tools is beneficial.

Pay:

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
