Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant An established Portland-based organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of its finance department. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with monthly close, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where accuracy and consistency are highly valued.

Salary:

$65,000 to $75,000, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Analyze account activity and investigate variances Support financial statement preparation and reporting Assist with audit requests and compliance activities Maintain accurate general ledger records Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations Proficiency in Excel and other accounting software
