This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team in Southwest Houston. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, preparing reconciliations and journal entries, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close activities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset accounting Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and supporting documentation Reconciliations & Reporting Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations Assist with preparing monthly financial reports and supporting schedules Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies as needed Support internal and external audit requests Accounts Payable & Receivable Support Assist with AP and AR processes as needed, including invoice review and payment research Support cash application and customer/vendor account reconciliations Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies Month-End Close & Compliance Support month-end and year-end close processes Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls Maintain organized accounting records and documentation for audit purposes Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and efficiencies Assist with system implementations, reporting enhancements, and process documentation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2+ years of general accounting or staff accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred Strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment How to Apply If you are a motivated Staff Accountant looking to grow your career with a collaborative team in Southwest Houston, we encourage you to apply.
