Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the development and maintenance of accounting systems for two operating companies.

Ideally, this person will demonstrate strong leadership skills, exhibit attention to detail, be a critical thinker, work well in a team environment, and will strive to enrich the Company Culture. The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Controller and maintains proactive, frequent, and open communication.
STAFF ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITES
  • Ensure that all accounting processes, procedures, and controls are GAAP compliant for multiple operating companies
  • Assist the Controller with month-end closing processes and procedures: o Prepare month-end consolidated financial statements for review o Prepare EBITDA analysis by project type for review with leadership team o Prepare and maintain monthly financial KPIs, including productivity reports o Maintain the fixed asset register o Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliation o Prepare month-end accruals including payroll accounts, accounts payable, etc.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly general ledger entries
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assist Controller with yearly budget
  • Support the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments as needed
  • Prepare supporting documentation for external auditors
  • Prepare, consolidate, and summarize weekly forecast
  • Verify AP invoices to ensure accurate posting and proper authorization
  • Assist Accounts Payable with 1099 process at year-end.
  • Develop spreadsheet reports to compile and analyze information
  • Perform various analytical tasks and projects to assist management in decision making to improve the profitability of the company
  • Facilitate the educational process by staying current with topics in finance / accounting and help teach / train the leadership team in these areas
  • Other duties as directed

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field o Preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
